Delete your community

What happens when you delete a community, what it does to your members and their subscriptions, and what to consider first.

The danger zone at the bottom of Settings deletes your community permanently. Owner only, and it asks you to confirm properly.

What it does

  • Everything goes: courses, posts, guides, audio, pages, members, files.

  • Paid memberships are ended at the end of the period each member has already paid for. Nobody is refunded and nobody is cut off early.

  • Your web address is gone, and it does not come back.

Consider dropping to free instead

Moving to the free plan stops the bill, keeps your community up, and keeps your members where they are. If what you actually want is to stop paying, that is the move. Deleting is for when you genuinely want it all to stop existing.

Tell your members first

Nothing is sent on your behalf explaining why their community disappeared. A short email a week before is the decent thing, and it is the difference between winding something down and vanishing.

Common questions

Can I keep the web address for later?

No. Deleting frees it, and addresses are first come, first served.

What happens to money already paid?

It stays with you. Members keep the access they paid for until that period ends.

Can I run a second community on this account instead?

Each community needs its own account.
