Writing with your team
What the owner, admins and editors can each do on the blog, how bylines work, and what happens when two people edit one post.

Anybody who holds a seat on your team can write, schedule and publish posts, file posts in your categories and choose who a post is by. Only the owner and admins can change the blog's settings, import a blog, or see its analytics.
Admin and editor seats come with the Growth plan. On other plans you are the only seat, and this article is about what changes when you add people. See Invite a teammate to your team.
What each seat can do
Owner and admins: everything, including turning the blog on or off, its Settings, import, categories, guest authors and everyone's profiles, and the Analytics tab.
Editors: write, schedule and publish posts, Email this post, and edit their own author profile. In Settings every row is greyed, with the reason at the top: Only the owner or an admin can change the blog's settings. There is no Analytics tab and no Import button.
When you publish or schedule with subscribers on the list, an editor's answer to Email it to your subscribers? holds for that one post. The blog's own setting stays the owner's and the admins'.
If the blog is off, an editor can still write, and can publish too. The post then reads Published, blog off, with a line saying nobody can read it until the owner or an admin turns the blog on.
Bylines
A post with nobody picked is by the owner. Pick who a post is by in its settings, under By. Teammates can set up their own profile in the Authors tab. See Categories, authors and featured posts.
Two people, one post
Two people cannot edit the same post at the same time. If a teammate saves while you are typing, your editor stops saving, the indicator reads Not saving and a banner asks you to reload. Your edits since the last save are not kept, so copy anything you need first, then reload to pick up their version.
The blog has no live co-editing, comments or review step, so agree between you who is working on a post.
