A scheduled post stays a draft nobody can see until its time, then goes live on its own. It carries the Scheduled label, with its time, until then.

  1. Open the schedule

In the editor, press the arrow beside Publish and choose Schedule for later…. On the Posts list, open a draft's menu and pick Schedule….

  2. Pick a day and a time

Choose when it goes live. The time is in your own time zone, and the dialog says so. It has to be in the future, and no more than two years ahead.

  3. Choose who is emailed

Email when it goes live picks who hears about it the minute it is live. See Email a post to your members.

  4. Press Schedule

The button reads Schedule for and the day. The post goes live within a minute of its time, and its publish date is the time you chose.

Change it, cancel it, or publish early

  • Change the schedule… and Unschedule are in the same menu. An unscheduled post stays a draft until you publish it.

  • On a scheduled post the main button reads Publish now. The post goes live now instead of at its time. If it carries an email for when it goes live, you are asked first, because that email goes out with it.

  • A post needs a title to go live. If a scheduled post has lost its title by its time, it is not published and its schedule is cleared, so it shows as a draft again.

Schedule many posts at once

On the Posts list, tick the drafts, then press Schedule on the bar at the bottom. Pick a starting time and how to spread them: All at once, One a day or One a week, in the order the posts are listed. If your blog has subscribers you can switch on Email each one to them as it goes live.

The calendar

The Calendar tab on the Blog page shows live posts on the day they went live and scheduled posts on the day they will go live, by Month or Week. Drag a scheduled post to another day and it keeps its time. Drag a draft from the Drafts tray onto a day and it is scheduled for 9:00 that day. A post with an email waiting shows a small mail icon.

The calendar uses your own time zone, so a post scheduled for late evening can sit on a different day for a teammate in another zone.
