- overview
Drry can take money four different ways. They are not interchangeable, and picking the wrong one is the most common setup mistake, so here they are side by side.
Membership
Recurring access to everything you have published. Choose it when the thing you sell is ongoing: the community, the library, you. One price, and everything published is included.
A digital product
A one-off purchase of a file: a workbook, a template pack, an ebook, a recorded course. Choose it when somebody buys a thing rather than a relationship, and when they should get it without joining anything.
A payment link
An invoice with a page. Choose it for bespoke work, packages, retainers and anything that needs a contract or a payment plan. It can also grant community access for a set number of days, which is how a twelve week programme is usually sold.
An event ticket
Paid entry to one session. Choose it for a workshop or a masterclass that people who are not members should be able to buy.
What they have in common
All four run through your own Stripe account, all four keep 100% of the price minus Stripe's own fee, and all four appear in the same revenue picture in Analytics and against the individual member record.
Common questions
Can I sell a single course?
Not as a membership carve-out. Either sell it as a digital product, or use membership tiers and put the course behind a level.
Can somebody buy a product without joining?
Yes. Products and payment links are for buyers, not members. That is the point of them.
Which one should a brand new coach start with?
A membership, priced low, with a founding offer. It is the only one of the four that compounds.
