Invite a teammate to your team

Invite an admin or editor by email: where the button is, the seat limits on Growth, what your teammate sees when they accept, and what each seat can do.

The quickest way to bring a contractor, a helper or a co-host into your community is to invite them by email. They do not have to join as a member first: they get a link, accept it, and land in your console with the seat you chose.

There are two team seats, Admin and Editor. This article covers inviting someone who has not joined yet. If the person is already a member, you promote them from the Members page instead, which Members and roles covers.

  1. Open the Team tab

In the sidebar click Members, then the Team tab. The Team tab lists you and everyone who holds a seat.

  2. Press Invite teammate

The button sits at the top right, next to Export CSV, and only shows on the Team tab. On the Members tab that spot holds Grant free access instead.

  3. Pick the seat

The dialog offers two, each with a one line description.

    • Editor: builds courses, guides, landing pages and branding. No member list, no messages, no billing. This one is selected to start with.

    • Admin: helps run the community: moderation, members, live sessions. Not billing.

  4. Enter their email and send

Type the address they will sign in with, then press Send invite. Drry emails them a link, and shows a confirmation with a Copy link button. Use it if the email is slow, or if you would rather send the link in your own message.

The link works once, and only for that address.

  5. Watch it under Invited, not yet accepted

A card above the team list shows every invite that has been sent and not used: the address, the seat, when it expires, and a Withdraw button. A person is not a teammate until they accept, so they do not appear in the team list or the Team count before then.

What your teammate sees

They open the link from the email. If they are signed out, Drry sends them to sign in first with an emailed code, then brings them straight back to the invite. They must sign in with the same address you invited.

The invite page says they have been invited to join your community as an Admin or an Editor, shows the date it expires, and offers Accept and Decline. Nothing changes until they press Accept, because a console seat sits next to your members' details. After they accept, they open your console on Home.

If they had already joined your community as a member before clicking, accepting upgrades that membership to the seat you invited them for. If they were already an admin or editor by then, the link changes nothing.

The rules that decide whether an invite works

  • Admins: up to 10 on Growth. Invites you have sent and not yet used count against that number, so ten pending admin invites leave no room for an eleventh.

  • Editors: no limit on Growth.

  • Invites waiting at once: up to 20 across both seats. Accepted, withdrawn and expired invites stop counting.

  • Time: a link lasts 14 days. After that it expires, and you can send the same address a fresh one.

  • One live invite per address: if someone already has one waiting, withdraw it first to send another.

  • Already in your community: you cannot invite someone who is already a member. Change their seat from the Members page instead.

Everything is checked again at the moment they press Accept, not when you sent the invite. If you leave Growth in between, if your community is paused, or if the seats have filled up, the invite stops working and they see a plain reason, such as This seat is not available right now or The team is full.

What each seat can do

Editor. The seat is for building. An editor sees Home, Courses, Guides, Audio, Events & Booking, Emails & Contacts, Landing Pages & Forms, Customize and Help. They do not see Members, Direct messages, Community, Analytics, Offers, Payments & Agreements, Bio Link & Store or Settings. On the calendar they can schedule sessions, but they cannot host a live room, connect Google, or refund a ticket.

Admin. An admin reaches the whole console apart from the things only the owner can do, which Members and roles lists. An admin also cannot invite teammates, change anyone's seat, or remove another admin.

Team seats sit outside your member limit. Filling every admin and editor seat never uses up member places.

Common questions

Can an admin invite someone?

No. Inviting, withdrawing and changing seats are owner only.

The invited person says the invite is for a different email. What now?

An invite only works for the address it was sent to. Ask them to sign in with that address, or withdraw the invite and send a new one to the address they use.

They say the link has already been used or has expired.

Each link works once and lasts 14 days. Withdraw the old one if it is still listed, then send a fresh invite.

I sent the invite to the wrong address.

Press Withdraw beside it under Invited, not yet accepted. The link stops working straight away. Then send a new one.

Can I remove a teammate later?

Yes. Only you, the owner, can remove an admin. Members and roles and Removing a member cover what changes.
