A paid booking charges the person when they book. They pick a time, answer your questions, pay, and only then is the session booked. The price comes from a product in your shop, so there is one place to change it.

  1. Connect Stripe (skip if it already says Connected)

Open Settings, then the Getting paid tab. In the Accept payments card, press Connect Stripe and finish Stripe's form. Come back and check the status reads Connected.

  2. Open the Products tab

In the sidebar press Bio Link & Store. Open the Products tab. Press New product.

  3. Make it a service

In Name, use a name your customer will recognise, such as "60 minute strategy call".

In Price, type an amount above zero in your own currency. Your currency is set by your Stripe account and cannot be changed.

Under What buyers get, choose A service. A service has no file.

  4. Say what happens next

In What happens next, write what the customer should do after booking. For example, a link to a short intake doc. Or pick a list under Add buyers to a list.

You need at least one of these. A service with neither cannot be sold. Then press Create product.

  5. Hide the product from your shop (recommended)

Set Where it shows to Hidden, sold only where you link it. It still takes payments. It just does not appear on your bio page or get its own shop page, where people could buy it without booking a time.

  6. Start selling

A new product is a draft. On its row, open the ... menu and press Start selling. The status should read Selling.

  7. Open the session type

In the sidebar press Events & Booking, then open the Booking tab. Under Your session types, press New type to make one. Or open the ... menu on an existing type and press Edit.

Set the usual things first: name, length, hours and where it happens. A new type starts out Paused.

  8. Choose what you ask them (optional)

In What you ask them, the default is Email, and a phone number if you ask. To ask more, pick one of your own forms from the list.

A form that is still a draft shows (draft, publish it first) and cannot be picked. Publish it first. See the notes on forms below.

  9. Attach the product

In What it costs, open the dropdown and pick your service product. It shows the name and price, for example "60 minute strategy call · $150". The default is Free to book.

If this section only says Free to book. Connect Stripe in Settings to charge for a session., Stripe is not connected yet. Go back to step 1.

    Only service products are listed.

  10. Save and resume

Press Save changes. Read the line under What it costs. If it is red and starts with "This session is not charging", read the warning below and fix it.

If the type is Paused, open its ... menu and press Resume.

  11. Test it

On the type's card press Copy link. Open the link in a private browser window and book a time with a real card.

Check that the confirmation email arrives, the session is on your calendar, and the payment shows under Bio Link & Store, then Orders. Then refund yourself from Settings, then Getting paid, then the Accept payments card.

What your customer sees

  1. They open your booking page and pick a time.

  2. They fill in your questions. If you did not attach a form, they give a name and email (and a phone number if you ask). The button reads Book for $150, with your price.

  3. A payment panel opens in the same window. They pay by card, or with Stripe Link if it is on for your account. They never leave the page.

  4. The time is held for them for about 30 minutes from this point. If they press Pick another time, the hold is released.

  5. After they pay they see "Payment received. Putting the session in the calendar", then their confirmation.

  6. They get your confirmation email with the calendar invite and join link, plus your reminders. You get a new booking notice.

The order is always form first, then payment. Nothing is saved for them until they have paid. Someone who fills in the form and closes the page leaves no booking and no form response.

Where you find things afterwards

  • The session: on your events calendar, under Events & Booking.

  • The payment: as an order for your service product, under Bio Link & Store, then Orders.

  • Their form answers: on the form's Responses tab, and on the session in your calendar.

Common questions

Does my customer need an account?

No. They only need an email address and a card.

How do customers pay?

By card, or with Stripe Link once Stripe has switched it on for your account.

Does Drry take a cut?

No. Drry takes 0% on every plan. Stripe charges its normal processing fee on each payment.

How do I change the price?

Change the price on the product in Bio Link & Store. The session type follows it. People who already paid keep what they paid.

Can two session types have different prices?

Yes. Make one service product per price and attach each to its own session type.

Can I charge in another currency?

No. Your currency is fixed by the country of your Stripe account when you connect it.

Someone paid but has no booking. What now?

This is rare. It can happen if the session type was paused or lost its host while they were paying. Check your calendar and Bio Link & Store, then Orders. If there is a payment and no session, refund them from the Accept payments card or book them a time yourself. Drry does not refund automatically.

What if two people pick the same time?

The first person to reach the payment step holds the time. The second sees "That time was just taken." and is not charged.

Can an editor set this up?

No. The Booking tab and prices are for owners and admins. Connecting Stripe is for the owner only.

Can I use this for a paid event or webinar?

No. This is for one to one bookings. Paid event tickets are set up on the event itself.
