Moderating your community

Pinning, removing, reports, and pausing someone's posting. Everything here works on every plan.

Every tool in this article works on every plan, free included. The AI screening that holds posts before anyone sees them is a separate, Growth-only feature covered in its own article.

On any post

The menu on a post gives you, as a moderator:

  • Pin or Unpin, on posts rather than replies. A pinned post sits at the top of the feed.

  • Remove, which takes it out of the feed for everyone.

You cannot edit someone else's post. Only the author can. If the wording is the problem, remove it and talk to them.

Removing is not a permanent deletion. The post is kept and can be put back, and any images or files attached to it stop counting against your storage.

Reports

Members can report a post, a message, or something said in a live session. Reports land in the Review tab of the Community console, which carries a count badge.

Reports work on every plan. The tab groups them by where they came from: messages, live chat, member reports, and, on Growth, anything the AI held.

Pausing someone

Between doing nothing and removing a member there is Pause posting. It stops that person writing anything for one hour, twenty four hours, seven days, or until you lift it.

They keep their access and can still read everything, and they can still report things. There is a private note field so you remember why.

You cannot pause yourself or another admin.

Common questions

Can I restore a post I removed?

Yes, there is a Put it back action on the confirmation, and removed posts can be restored from Review. Note that any reports you settled stay settled.

Do members know their post was removed?

They are not notified. The post simply is not in the feed any more. If it matters, message them.

Can my admins moderate?

Yes, admins have the same pin, remove and pause powers as you. Admins need the Growth plan.

Can I turn off the emails about reports?

Not currently. Held posts and reports email you and your admins so nothing sits unseen.
