When a member signs in, the first thing they see is your Home tab. It is made of sections stacked one under another, and you decide which sections, in what order, and what each one says. Drry calls the tool that does this the Home builder.

You can start with the ready-made layout and change one thing, or clear it and build your own: a welcome, a personal note from you, a countdown to your next launch, then your courses.

  1. Open the builder

In the sidebar click Customize, then Page copy in the left column. The first group is Home. Press Open builder.

The builder needs a laptop or desktop sized window. On a phone it asks you to open it on a bigger screen. Owners, admins and editors can all use it.

  2. Add a section

On the left is the Outline, a list of every section on your Home. Press Add section at the bottom of it and pick a type. The new section lands at the end of the list and opens for editing. You can have up to 24 sections.

  3. Write it in the Content tab

Click any section, either in the Outline or in the preview, and its editor docks on the right. The Content tab holds the words and the choices specific to that type. Most types also have a layout choice, such as Left or Centered, Grid or List.

  4. Style it in the Style tab

The Style tab is the same for every section. Background: Default, Tint, Inverted or Brand color. Spacing: Normal, Compact or Roomy. Alignment: Default, Left, Center or Right.

Under Custom colors you can set a Background, an Accent and a Text colour for just this section. Leave them empty and the section uses your brand colours. Drry warns you if the combination is hard to read.

Sections with a button (Call to action, Countdown, and Community in its Button layout) also get a This button panel. The default for every button on your Home is set once in Customize, in the Buttons section.

  5. Put them in order

Drag a row in the Outline by its handle, or click a section in the preview and use Move up and Move down in the toolbar above it. Members see the sections top to bottom in exactly this order.

  6. Hide, duplicate or remove

Each Outline row has buttons to Hide section, Duplicate section and Delete section. The Style tab also has a Hide on live home switch.

Hiding keeps the section in the builder with all its words and takes it off what members see, so it is the right choice for a launch banner you will want again. Deleting asks you to confirm, and the words are gone.

  7. Save

Press Save in the top right. It stays greyed out until you change something, and Unsaved changes shows next to it when you have. Saving publishes straight to your members. There is no separate draft.

The section types

Thirteen types, in two kinds. The first seven are things you write. The last six pull live content from your community.

Sections you write

  • Welcome: an eyebrow, a headline and an intro line at the top. Leave the eyebrow empty and your wordmark shows there, so a rename carries through.

  • Message: a heading and a block of your own copy. Style is Plain, or Callout, which boxes it in a panel with an accent edge.

  • Coach's message: a personal note with a photo and name. Style is Note, Banner or Quote. More on this below.

  • Quick links: shortcut buttons to anywhere you choose, as Buttons, a Grid or a List, up to eight of them. Each link has a label and a destination picker.

  • Call to action: a full-width banner with a heading, a line of text and one button. Tone is Dark, Brand color or Plain. The button label falls back to Open if you leave it empty.

  • Countdown: counts down to a date and time you set, as a Banner of digit tiles or a Compact line, with an optional button. Every member sees the same moment, and once it passes the block reads Happening now.

  • Featured: spotlights one course, one audio track or one community thread that you pick by hand, as a Spotlight, Card or Banner. If that item is later deleted or unpublished, the block quietly disappears.

Sections that show live content

  • Continue: takes the member back to the course they were partway through, as a Card, Compact or Banner. It does not show for a member with nothing to resume, and once every lesson is finished it becomes an All caught up card that points them to the community, audio or courses.

  • Courses: a glimpse of your course library as a Grid, List or Spotlight. You choose how many covers to show, from 1 to 12.

  • Audio: a glimpse of your audio library as a Grid, List or Featured, 1 to 12 tracks.

  • Guides: a glimpse of your guides as a Grid or List, 1 to 12.

  • Events: your next event plus what is coming up, as a Spotlight or Grid, with 1 to 6 further events under the first. It hides itself when nothing is upcoming.

  • Community: a teaser into the feed, as a Card, a Feed of recent threads, or a Button.

The live-content sections use your own tab names, so if you renamed Courses to Programs, the heading follows unless you type one of your own.

A note from you, signed by the right person

The Coach's message section can be signed by you, by one of your admins, or by several people together.

  • Turn on Show who it's from to put a photo and name beside the message. Turn it off for an unsigned note.

  • Under the switch is a checklist of your team. The owner is ticked by default and is labelled Owner (default). Tick up to four people. Their names read in the order you tick them, and each ticked row shows its place.

  • You cannot untick the last person, and a fifth cannot be added.

  • Only the owner or an admin can sign. An editor can build the note but cannot be named on it. If a request names anyone else, Drry refuses it with: A coach's message can only be signed by the owner or an admin of this community.

Members see one signer as a photo, or an initial if there is no photo, next to the name. Several signers show as a small overlapping stack of up to three faces with a +N for the rest, and the names joined with "and".

Leaving the owner ticked stores nothing, so the note is always signed by whoever the owner is. If you ever transfer your community, an owner-signed note follows the new owner. If a person you named leaves your team, their name drops off the note by itself, and the owner signs it if nobody else remains.

On a community with only an owner, the checklist is a single read-only row. Admins are a Growth plan seat, so signing from more than one person needs a team.

Formatting your words

Message and Coach's message use the same editor as your funnel pages and emails. The toolbar has:

  • Bold and italic

  • Links

  • Bulleted lists (there are no numbered lists)

  • Line break

  • Text size: Small, Normal, Large, Extra large and Huge, relative to the section's own text

  • Paragraph alignment: follow the section, Left, Center or Right

The body can be up to 2,000 characters. Links only work when they start with https:// or with / for a page in your own community. Anything else, including a plain http:// address, shows as ordinary text instead of a link.

Every other text field on Home is plain text, and formatting marks are not applied: the Welcome intro line, the subtext on Call to action, Countdown and Community, and every heading. Messages you wrote before formatting existed still read the same, but a line that starts with a dash, or words wrapped in asterisks, will now format.

What members do and do not see

The preview in the builder uses sample content, including a placeholder name on a Coach's message, so it shows the layout rather than your real courses and posts. Members see the real thing, and some sections are dropped on purpose:

  • A section you have hidden.

  • A Message or Coach's message with no heading and no body, a Quick links section with no complete label and link, and any other authored section left empty.

  • A live-content section whose tab is switched off. Continue and Courses need the Courses tab, and Audio, Guides, Events and Community need theirs. In the Add section menu those types are greyed out with the reason. Turn the tab back on in Customize, in the section called Tabs.

  • Content the member cannot open. If you sell membership tiers, Home shows each member only what their tier lets them open. The exception is a Featured item you picked by hand, which keeps its card as an upgrade prompt.

Common questions

I have never opened the builder. What do my members see?

A ready-made layout: a Welcome, Continue, Courses, Audio, Guides, Events and a Community card, using the headline and intro line you set under Page copy. Sections for tabs you have switched off are skipped. Your first Save writes the layout, and from then on it is yours to change.

Do I need a paid plan?

No. The Home builder has no plan limit. It is open to every plan, including free.

Can my editors build it?

Yes. Owners, admins and editors can all open the builder and save. Only the owner or an admin can be named as a signer on a Coach's message.

Can I rename or move the Home tab?

No. Home is always the first tab. You choose which other tabs exist, and their order, under Customize, then Tabs.

Can I show a different Home to different members?

No. Everyone signed in sees the same sections. What varies is only what each member is allowed to open, and their own progress on a Continue card.

What if I delete everything?

You can save an empty Home. Drry asks you to confirm first, because members would land on a blank page.

Can my AI assistant edit it?

Yes. A connected assistant can add, edit and reorder Home sections, including choosing who signs a Coach's message, and it follows the same rules as the builder.
