Choose what your members see
Turning tabs on and off, renaming them, and reordering them, plus what happens to old links when you switch one off.

Your community has a row of tabs across the top: Home, and then whichever of Community, Courses, Audio, Guides, Events and Messages you have switched on.
You decide which of those exist. A community that is only a discussion feed is a perfectly good community, and so is one that is only courses.
The switches are in Customize, in the section called Tabs. Messages and the member directory sit in the Members section instead, because they change what members can see about each other rather than what they can read.
Open Customize and go to Tabs
Sidebar, then Customize, then Tabs in the left column.
Switch on what you want
Each row has a short description of what that tab is for. Switch on the ones you plan to use.
Audio, Guides and Events can be renamed. Switch one on and a Tab label field appears. Call your audio library Meditations, or your events Gatherings, or whatever your members would actually call it.
Drag them into the order you want
Home is pinned first and cannot move. Everything else you drag. Put the thing people come back for at the front.
Save
One Save button covers the whole Customize, so it saves anything else you changed while you were in there.
Common questions
I published something and my members say they cannot see it.
Nine times out of ten the tab is off. Check Customize, then Tabs. The other common cause is that the item is still a draft.
Does switching a tab off delete anything?
No. Nothing is deleted, and nothing is unpublished. It is purely about what members can reach.
Can I hide a tab from some members but not others?
No. Tabs are on or off for everyone. If you want some content restricted, use drip scheduling inside a course instead.
What is the member directory?
A page where members can browse each other. It is off by default and lives in Customize under Members, deliberately separate from the other tabs because it decides what your members can learn about one another.
