Free access, sometimes called a comp, is for the people who should be inside without paying: a friend, a beta group, a guest teacher, or somebody who paid you another way.

  1. Open Members and press Grant access

Enter the email address you want to let in. They need a Drry account first, so if you are told no account uses that address, ask them to sign in to your community once and then grant it.

  2. Pick a level, if you sell more than one

Communities with membership tiers choose which rung the free access opens.

  3. Grant it

They get full access at no charge straight away. Their row is marked as comped, so nobody later mistakes them for a paying member.

Taking it back

Revoke from the same place. Their access ends and they keep their posts and their profile. If you would rather they stayed as a paying member, tell them before you revoke: nothing prompts them to add a card.

Common questions

Does free access count towards my member limit?

Yes. They are a member, so they occupy a slot.

Does it show up in revenue?

No. Comped members appear at zero, which is exactly what happened.

Can I grant access to somebody who has not signed up yet?

Not before they have signed in once. Grant access matches an existing account, so ask them to open your community and sign in with the address you will use, then grant it.
