Your terms and privacy policy
Publish your own terms and privacy policy at your community's own address, and what happens while they are unwritten.

- legal
- privacy
The legal section of Customize holds two documents: your terms and conditions, and your privacy policy. Each is written in a normal editor and each has its own switch.
The three states
Nothing written. Nothing is published, and nothing appears.
Written but off. Your text is saved but nobody can see it. Useful while you are drafting.
Live. Members and visitors can read it before they join.
Where they appear
Published at your community's own address, and deliberately kept out of search results, the same as the rest of your member surface.
Common questions
Do I have to publish anything?
Drry does not force it. Whether the law where you are does is a question for somebody qualified to answer it.
Can I link to a policy hosted elsewhere?
These publish at your community address. If your policy lives on your own site, put a link in it and keep the canonical copy where it is.
Are members asked to agree?
Published documents are readable before somebody joins, which is the moment they matter.
